The National Heat Treatment Centre (NHTC) began life in University College Dublin in 1993 as a funded research centre led by David Collins, a lecturer in Metallurgy in the Mechanical Engineering Department. To help finance the research operation, it offered contract heat treating services and metallurgical analysis to the engineering industry, predominantly the emerging tool-making sector.

The National Heat Treatment Centre asked Echo Media in 2017 to create a web presence for the company including an online brand identity. The previous website related back to the days in the University environment and hadn’t been upgraded since the early 2000’s. Echo Media set about designing a logo, brand identity and a website to suit a company that is growing fast in a high tech environment. The process is ongoing but the website was launched in February 2018 and is building a community of users week on week.
